Reports to: General Manager (GM) and Assistant General Manager (AGM)

The Beverage Manager serves as the architect of the House’s beverage program, ensuring exceptional experiences through innovative menus, well-trained staff, and cost-effective operations. The Beverage Manager oversees all beverage-related operations across the bars, private events, non-alcoholic offerings, and coffee programs, while supporting overall House operations. Passion, purpose, and profitability drive this role as it enhances the member and guest experience.

Responsibilities of the Beverage Manager

Beverage Program Management

  • Develop and execute seasonal, innovative menus for bars, private events, non-alcoholic offerings, and coffee programs.
  • Ensure consistency in quality, presentation, and alignment with the House’s brand standards.
  • Manage beverage costs through efficient ordering, inventory controls, and vendor negotiations.
  • Regularly evaluate beverage trends and member feedback to adapt offerings.
  • Collaborate with the culinary team to create cohesive food and beverage pairings.

Team Leadership and Training

  • Train, mentor, and develop bartenders and beverage staff to uphold service excellence.
  • Conduct regular training sessions on product knowledge, bartending techniques, and service standards.
  • Evaluate staff performance, provide constructive feedback, and encourage professional growth.
  • Schedule and manage staff efficiently, ensuring adequate coverage without exceeding labor targets.

Operations and Cost Management

  • Implement and monitor beverage cost controls to align with budgetary goals.
  • Conduct monthly beverage and equipment inventories to ensure profitability and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with the AGM and GM on forecasting, budgeting, and setting measurable goals.
  • Manage vendor relationships for beverages, equipment, and supplies.

Private Events and Programming

  • Collaborate with event managers to design and execute tailored beverage menus for private events.
  • Work with the Concierge team to integrate beverage programming into member events.
  • Monitor private event operations to ensure seamless execution and exceptional guest satisfaction.

House Maintenance and Safety

  • Maintain par levels for all beverage-related supplies and optimize ordering systems.
  • Ensure compliance with all ABC laws and regulations, and train staff accordingly.
  • Enforce food safety, handling, and sanitation standards for beverage operations.

Member Relations

  • Develop meaningful relationships with members by curating personalized beverage experiences.
  • Collect feedback to refine the program and enhance guest satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with the Membership team to align beverage offerings with member preferences and expectations.

Education and Experience

  • Minimum 2 years of management experience in Food & Beverage.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Hospitality Management or related field preferred but not required.
  • In-depth knowledge of beverage operations, including cocktails, wine, beer, coffee, and non-alcoholic offerings.

Skills and Abilities

  • Strong organizational abilities to oversee multiple programs and priorities.
  • Creative and analytical thinking to develop unique menus and manage costs effectively.
  • Proficiency in POS systems and inventory management software.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor with a passion for hospitality.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods of walking, standing, and physical activity.
  • Ability to lift and carry 15 pounds repetitively.
  • Capability to work in environments with hot/cold surfaces, wet floors, and moderate noise.
